How I Am My Writing - 963 Words

When I looked over my ePortfolio, I couldn’t believe how many pieces of writing I have completed over the course of the semester. I don’t think I have ever written that much in one semester before. When the semester began, I didn’t think this class would change a single thing about my writing. I believed my writing would stay how it has always been. I also believe my writing process wouldn’t change one bit. I have realized that I was wrong. In fact, not only do I think my writing process has changed significantly. I also believe my writing has improved in direct correlation to my improved writing process. I hope it is very evident in my writing that Writing 101 has completely changed the quality of my writing. At the beginning of the semester, writing was very difficult for me. Writing seemed to be an impossible task. It would take me forever to come up with a good piece of writing. Throughout this course, I have learned that my writing process was slow and inefficient. I often waited to the last minute and wrote a paper in one sitting. I know now that the proper way to write a paper is to take it in stages. I learned that if I took my time and wrote the paper would be so much better. Just going back and reviewing my writing before turning it in payed huge dividends. Another important lesson that I learned the hard way is that I couldn’t the same writing process for every single paper.
